Convert PNG to WebP

WebP keeps transparency like PNG and is supported by every current browser, usually at a fraction of the file size. A good choice for web graphics and screenshots that load faster.

    How it works

Three steps, all on your own device.

    1. Step 1: Add PNG files

Drop, paste or pick up to 10 PNG images of 20 MB each. They are read on your device.

    2. Step 2: WebP is already selected

The output is set to WebP. You can still choose another format or change the quality.

    3. Step 3: Download the WebP files

Each PNG file keeps its name with the .webp extension, one by one or as a ZIP.

    Questions and answers

Is the transparency of my PNG kept?

Yes. WebP supports transparency, so transparent and semi-transparent pixels stay as they are.

Will WebP be smaller than my PNG?

For photos and gradients almost always. For small icons with a handful of colours the difference can be small. Each result shows its real file size, so you can compare.

Which quality should I pick for graphics?

Graphics with sharp edges and text look best at quality 90 or more. For photographs, 75–85 is usually enough.
