    How it works

    Three steps, all on your own device.

    1. Step 1: Add images

      JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP or HEIC (in Safari), up to 10 files of 20 MB each.

    2. Step 2: Pick the new format

      JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, with a quality setting for the lossy formats and a background colour for transparency in JPG.

    3. Step 3: Download

      Each file keeps its name with the new extension. Download one by one or all together as a ZIP.

    Questions and answers

    Which formats can I convert?
    You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP files, and HEIC/HEIF where your browser can decode them (Safari). Every image can be saved as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.

    What happens to an animated GIF?
    Only the first frame is converted. The result is a still image in the format you choose.

    Does converting change the size or quality?
    The size in pixels stays the same. PNG is lossless. JPG, WebP and AVIF are lossy: at quality 90 the difference is very hard to see, and lower values make smaller files.

    What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG?
    JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas get the background colour you choose (white by default). PNG, WebP and AVIF keep transparency.

    Are the file names kept?
    Yes. photo.png becomes photo.jpg, and so on: only the extension changes. In a ZIP, duplicate names get a number.
